On the West side of the country in the Crenshaw District near Leimert Park where I was raised, Nipsey Hussle wasn’t named to the Forbes list. However, he is working on being there real soon. Nipsey Hussle is putting his money where his mouth is in terms of leaving a commendable legacy behind. The rapper has and continues to “Buy Back the Block” building and creating the neighborhood he would like to live in instead of leaving it behind to be gentrified and the people who have been there be left in obscurity. He has invested in the tech business with Cryptocurrency which is an Amsterdam based company affiliated with Follow Coin. He also opened The Marathon Clothing store which opts to offer a different shopping experience in the sense that it is your first smart store with technology allowing the customer to purchase merchandise and preview exclusive content from him. He has basically taken the music industry by storm, by refusing to conform to the usual business practices and or politics of the music industry, cutting out the middle man with his proud to pay campaign which has been very successful to date thus putting him in the position to be able to reinvest in his community.
